Vocal Fun 101 is an energetic, fun-filled introduction to the world of vocal technique and performance!
Through group singing, solos, movement, and improv exercises, students will learn:
* The importance of appropriate vocal warmups.
* Exercises to maximize range and flexibility of young voices.
* Tone color and vocal timbre
* Solo vs. ensemble singing
* Basic harmony and part singing
* Characterization, emotion, and storytelling in song
* Audition tips and tricks
No experience required - all you need is your voice!
Erin is a veteran singer, actor, pianist, educator, and music director based in Jacksonville with over 20 years experience as a voice teacher and audition coach. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Jacksonville University, she has spent the last two decades on stage, in the orchestra pit, and in the classroom preparing the next generation of young singers to be the best performers they can be. She maintains a busy private studio, was a fulltime teacher of music, chorus, and theatre at Assumption Catholic School in Jacksonville, has been a full time camp and music theatre instructor at Theatre Jacksonville for many years. As a performer, Erin has appeared at The Alhambra Theatre and Dining, Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre, The 5 & Dime Theatre. as a vocalist with The Milestones Jazz Trio, and with Bella Voce Cabaret, among others. She has a passion for teaching music, and for passing on her love of storytelling through song to singers of all ages.
