ALL EXPERINCE LEVELS WELCOMED

Blue Fire Theatre will hold an ongoing youth choral program for young and teen singers starting this Fall.

Blue Fire's Youth Ensemble will host an 8-week course for youth and teen singers with our resident vocal coach, Jennifer Paulk. The theme for the first 8 week session will be Broadway & Beyond! The course will culminate in a concert featuring some of the very best of Broadway & Movie musicals directed by Jennifer Paulk with chorography / movement by Shelby Goodwin.

Our Sparklers will be young singers in the following grade levels 2-6. This group will focus on the fundamentals of learning to sing in a ensemble setting. Bi-monthly meetings will focus on a curriculum of breathing, solfege (sight singing/ear training), blending, stage presence and light choreography.

Classes will be an hour and a half after school 4:15- 5:45.

 

Ignite will be best for students in grades 7-12. This group will also focus on the fundamentals of singing in a group setting, music theory, vocal mechanics, stage presence and light choreography will be used to provide a solid foundation for participants. This group will meet bi-monthly for a 2-hour period 6:15 - 8:15.

 

Theme --- Broadway & Beyond - Musicals & Movies

Audition requirements:

Sparklers - Grades 2-6

They will be taught a short piece of music at the auditions and will sing as a group. 

​

Ignite - Grades 7-12

Experienced Teens - please prepare 32 bars of any song from the musical theatre catalogue.

2 contrasting songs. Preferably a ballad and an up-tempo or comedic song.

Novice singers in the teen division, groups will be taught a simple melody.

There will also be a short movement audition.

11/1, 15, 29 
12/6 Dress Rehearsal 
12/8 Concert

Cost to participate: 8 week course with performance, shirt for performance included in fee $75.00 per student. Scholarships are available based on need.
